One of the more popular casino games of course is roulette; the word coming from French meaning “small wheel” was modernized into the game we know today by Francois and Louis Blanc.

There is a famous legend regarding François Blanc, he supposedly bargained with the devil to obtain the secrets of roulette. This is due to the fact that if you add up all the numbers on the roulette wheel from 1 to 36, the resulting total will be 666, which is the number of the beast and represents the devil.

In 1842 Francois and Louis Blanc invented the “Single 0″ game. The game found its way to North America around the same time and after a little tweaking the “Double 0″ was added to the wheel, which created a different version of the game – also known as American Roulette.
