Blackjack

One of the most popular card games today of course is Blackjack also known as twenty-one. An interesting story about how it came to be known as Blackjack starts with the introduction of the game to the United States, it wasn’t immediately popular and so the gambling houses of the day began to offer various payouts.

The 10-to-1 payout happened if the player was dealt the ace of spades and a black Jack (either the Jack of clubs or the Jack of spades). This hand became known as “blackjack” and of course the name stuck.
