Weekend Premiership Match Betting Tips 12th to 14th December
Football received sad news this week when it was announced that a couple of serious ankle injuries have curtailed the career of Dean Ashton at the age of only 26. Football betting fans know that it can be a cruel game, fortunately for Dean he will already have earned enough money to be financially secure for the rest of his life. West Ham will now need to strengthen their attacking options now news of Ashton’s retirement has been confirmed.
Sunderland 1.75 Draw 3.40 Portsmouth 4.60
After two disappointing results Sunderland must improve their performances to maintain their good start to the season. Portsmouth are apparently £80 million in debt with administration looming. This is a winnable match for Sunderland with crisis after crisis developing at Fratton Park. Sunderland hopes to welcome back George McCartney but have other injury worries with as many as eight regular starters in doubt. Portsmouth look guaranteed for relegation with off field problems and on field weak performances. Sunderland to win at 1.75 to further pile on the misery for Portsmouth is my tip for this match.
Bolton Wanderers 4.40 Draw 3.56 Man City 1.75
Perhaps you think I am crazy backing Man City but we have been really unfortunate with all the drawn games. Robinho has pledged his future to the team and influential players Bellamy and Ireland return from injury. This strengthens an already strong team. Bolton are 19th in the Premiership and struggling with the demands of the Premier league season. Kevin Davies returns from a one match ban and boss Gary Megson is under pressure to find a result. Unfortunately for them they face one of the strongest sides in the league and at 1.75 my tip is for Man City to finally win a match after their record series of draws.
Stoke City 2.10 Draw 3.25 Wigan 3.35
This match is interesting. I am tipping Stoke to get a home win but anyone backing the draw or even a Wigan win would be justified in places. The reason I pick Stoke is they are above Wigan in the table and have a good home record. Will Beattie play? Manager Tony Pulis says the bust-up lauded so loudly in the press is sorted out and Stoke fans will want focus moved back to on the field issues. Wigan are unpredictable and they are hopeful goalkeeper Kirkland will be fit. Their away form suggests Stoke have a good chance to win this match and at odds against 2.10 I think the odds are in the punters favour.
Man Utd 1.42 Draw 4.25 Aston Villa 7.00
Is the defensive crisis putting you off betting on Man Utd? Things are so bad apparently Sol Campbell was considered as a short term stopgap whilst other first team players return from injury. I still believe their attacking options make them heavy favourites at home. 1.42 has come in from 1.45 so punters still have belief in Man Utd to win and why shouldn’t they? Man Utd always make a fight for the title and have some catching up to do to over take leaders Chelsea.
My treble bet for this week will be Sunderland at odds of 1.75, Man City at 1.75 and Stoke City at 2.10. For a £10 stake this bet returns a total of £64.31. If you have followed my tips for this season we are in profit by £42 to £10 stakes which is a good performance so far. Hopefully our football betting will bear fruit, only Liverpool’s goalless draw prevented us collecting last week.
Good luck with your football betting this weekend.
