Weekend Premiership Football Tips for April 10th 2010
The end of the season is in sight and for Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea they are keen to make their respective pushes to try and win the Premiership title. Chelsea won the big match last weekend against Manchester Utd and proved they deserve their two point lead. Will Rooney’s absence be critical to the end of season standings? We will see.
Here are my selections from this weeks Premiership football matches with my recommended Premier league football betting tips. As always we are using the sports betting odds from bwin.com, who offer a wider selection of bets if you like betting on other parts of the matches like half time/full betting of first goalscorer.
West Ham 19/20 Draw 12/5 Sunderland 27/10
West Ham are fourth from bottom in deep relegation trouble. Sunderland’s season is one of two halves; they started well then tapered off. Scott Parker is suspended for this match and that will hurt West Ham, whilst Sunderland are without McCartney and Mensah, with serious doubts over the fitness of Cana. Sunderland have a terrible record away from home this season but had a great win at home to Tottenham last weekend which should lift their spirits ahead of this match. West Ham drew with Everton away which is very credible but have lost their last three home matches. I think this match will be a draw at 12/5 and would recommend betting on this match as a single bet.
Wolves 6/5 Draw 11/5 Stoke City 11/5
Wolves are not quite safe from relegation yet but Stoke have done very well to probably finish in mid-table. Stoke striker Ricardo Fuller is a doubt and whether he plays could influence this matches result. Stoke have won their last two matches and will see this match as winnable too. Wolves are without skipper Karl Henry who is suspended and they have wins over Burnley and West Ham recently, with credible performances against Man Utd, Arsenal and Everton in the last month. I also think this match will be drawn as I cannot make a strong case for either side to outclass the other and both teams have performed well recently. I would back this match in a single bet also 11/5.
Blackburn Rovers 11/2 Draw 13/4 Manchester Utd 9/20
Man Utd are without Wayne Rooney as their gamble in the Champions league did not pay off. Blackburn welcome back skipper Ryan Nelsen into their central defence and bring an unbeaten run of four matches to the table. Man Utd will probably start with Giggs, Scholes, G Neville and Berbatov for this match and I think that their experience and evergreen skills will be too much for Blackburn. Even without Rooney, the skills of Berbatov, Park, and the rest of the starting eleven make Man Utd heavy favourites. I am happy to back Man Utd at 9/20 to win this match, possibly in a doubles bet with one of the selections above to improve the overall return of the bet. As the Premiership is now their main focus you cannot see them dropping many points between now and the end of the season.
If you wish to back the two draws and Man Utd in a £10 treble you will get a good total return, including your stake, of £157.76. I would consider it more prudent to bet on each of the matches as singles bets this week as drawn matches are much harder to predict.
Whatever you bet on get your bets on early as the prices are subject to change and only correct at the time of writing.
Enjoy all the football betting action this weekend.
