Weekend Premiership Football Tips 28th to 30th November 2009
After Tottenham’s freak 9-1 victory over Wigan we are reminded that even with the best research and analysis football betting is never easy and the sport of football will always surprise us. This weekend we have the Merseyside derby to look forward to between Liverpool and Everton and Arsenal and Chelsea are a mouth-watering top of the table match. Using the football betting odds from bwin.com we will analyse some of the matches to find the best value bets.
Wigan 2.40 Draw 3.30 Sunderland 2.75
This match presents real value for me in backing Sunderland to beat Wigan. The 9-1 defeat by Spurs will have caused a loss of confidence and it is a big test of manager Martinez how he bounces back and lifts the squad. Sunderland is flying high with a great 1-0 win over Arsenal that caused an angry blast at his team from Arsene Wenger. Times are good for the Black Cats and I tip them to heap further woe on Wigan, a club in freefall it would seem towards the relegation dogfight. Sunderland to win at 2.75 and this may fall so get your bets on early on this game.
Aston Villa 2.35 Draw 3.35 Tottenham 2.80
Wigan’s conquerors Tottenham face Aston Villa in a match between two teams fighting to break into the top four. Champions league football is a realistic goal for these sides in the wake of Liverpool’s decline. Stuart Downing is tipped to make his debut after recovering form an injury, which will further add to their firepower from left wing. Tottenham’s confidence will be very high after scoring 9 goals in one match. Football rarely sees two such performances in a row, so the tip for this match is a competitive draw at 3.35. If you like correct score betting, it will probably be a score draw.
Everton 3.30 Draw 3.30 Liverpool 2.10
David Moyes is fighting off interest in 18 year old Jack Rodwell from Chelsea and Man Utd at the moment but will be hoping his team beats Liverpool to heap further misery on their city rivals. After losing to Hull 3-2 in midweek it was reported David Moyes was considering resigning as manager, something he denied today. This Sunday match sees Liverpool needing a result to bounce back from recent defeats to have any chance of qualifying for the champion’s league next season. I think Liverpool have the better squad and will win this match at 2.10. This could, however, be another drawn game as derbies are rarely predictable. The way I see it Liverpool are rarely a team that accepts defeat and they will bounce back again.
Arsenal 2.60 Draw 3.10 Chelsea 2.70
The second big game of Sundays matches. Chelsea will sense an opportunity as Arsenal lost to Sunderland in a game where they were heavy favourites, but Arsenal have won all of their home games so far this season. Chelsea has shown some vulnerability away but in a nig match such as this I expect their firepower to outgun the gallant young Arsenal side. Even though the stats suggest a draw, I will go out on a limb and tip Chelsea to further stretch their lead at the top of the table. Chelsea to win at 2.70.
My treble bet for this week is to back Sunderland at 2.75, Chelsea at 2.70 and Man Utd at 1.35. This bet will return £100.24 for a £10 stake. A nice profit of £90 for three in form teams looking too strong for their opponents. All three games should be worth watching and very entertaining for football betting fans.
Good luck with all of your football betting this weekend and enjoy the matches.
