Premiership Football Betting Tips for 27th March 2010
Choosing your weekend football betting selections has certainly not been easy this season. We have had one club going into administration, and three teams clear from the pack but tightly bunched together at the top of the league. These teams are given short odds because of their dominance over the rest of the teams of the Premiership.
Here are my selections, the reasons for the selections and a potential bet you could place. Make sure you check out some of the other betting tips I give by using the link.
Chelsea 19/50 Draw 17/5 Aston Villa 27/4
Chelsea are one point behind Man Utd in second place. They must win most, if not all, of their matches and hope Ferguson’s men slip up. Villa are further down the league three points away from that all-important last Champions league spot. Both clubs have plenty of play for. Ballack is back from injury for Chelsea but Malouda (suspension) and Carvalho (injury) are unavailable. They have scored ten goals in three games and bring a three match unbeaten run into this match. Richard Dunne, James Milner, Emile Heskey and Gabriel Agbonlahor are all doubtful through injury for Villa and the team have drawn their last two matches. Without the champions league, all efforts for Chelsea will now go into winning the Premiership so I think given Villas injury problems Chelsea will win this match. As part of accumulator type bets only, I would back Chelsea at 19/50.
The bet for over a total of more than 3.5 goals at 9/5 is also a bet I am interested in.
Wolves 13/5 Draw 23/10 Everton 1/1
David Moyes’ fracas with Roberto Mancini overshadowed the match itself between Everton and Man City but it was an excellent win for Everton. Chasing European qualification, they have everything to play for and have won three out of their last four matches. One potential problem is that goalkeeper Tim Howard faces a late fitness test, but being a goalkeeper he is likely to be played providing he is close to full fitness. Wolves are 15th in the league table and need another nine points to feel safe from relegation. They have a full strength team to choose from but I am going to back Everton at 1/1 to bolster our treble winnings. In the league this week, Everton is the only team you would expect to beat their opponents that have good odds. Back them in the trebles or accumulator bets at 1/1.
Bolton 25/4 Draw 17/5 Manchester Utd 2/5
Manchester Utd are top of the league and they know their fate is now in their hands. Ferguson has set them the target of remaining unbeaten and winning all of their matches for the rest of the season. First up is 14th placed Bolton. Wayne Rooney has been declared fit which is great news for the Red Devils whilst Nani has signed a new long term contract and is in good form.
Bolton are lifted by the news Gary Cahill is fit to return from a blood clot suffered late in 2009. This is only Bolton’s fourth home match since the beginning of February and I think Man Utd will have too much at this point in the season for them. I complete our treble by backing Man Utd to win at 2/5.
We have three selections for our treble bet. If we were to put our customary £10 bet on Manchester Utd to win at 2/5, Everton at 1/1 and Chelsea at 19/50 that treble would return for us a total of £38.64 including our stake. This is not a bad return considering bwin.com strongly favours the favourites to win their matches at this point of the season, giving them low returning odds.
Enjoy all of your football betting whatever you bet on this weekend.
