Premiership Football Betting Tips for 19th March 2010

The weekend is here yet again, I am sure the weeks speed up. Football betting, at least in theory, should be getting easier as the league shows us irrefutable proof of the teams current form.

Using the football betting odds from bwin.com here is the Premier League football betting tips for this weekend with my selected matches and bets for you to consider.

Wigan Athletic 3/4 Draw 9/4 Burnley 4/1

This bottom of the table clash sees Burnley, who have lost five out of their last six matches with the other match of the six being a home draw against Stoke, and Wigan currently just out of the relegation zone and holding an equally bad record of four losses in five matches. Wigan have a great chance to win this match at home but unfortunately the bad record of Burnley has shortened the odds further than perhaps they deserve. I think Burnley are not capable of winning this match or even drawing, therefore my tip is Wigan to win at home. 3/4 is decent odds for our weekly treble.

Stoke City 47/20 Draw 9/4 Tottenham Hotspur 11/10

Home draws against Arsenal and Aston Villa shows us Stoke are reasonable opponents when playing at home. Tottenham have won their last three matches and have the allure of a Champions League place to fight for so they have motivation. Although Stoke are good at home, Spurs have scored 8 goals in their last three matches with their forwards in great form. I will take the away day value to the bank and tip the away win with Spurs to win at 11/10.

Sunday – Man Utd 13/20 Draw 13/5 Liverpool 4/1

I do feel for Liverpool as they did so well last season and looked for a time like they might win the league but unfortunately football has a short memory and things have gone badly wrong. At Old Trafford, Man Utd are in full swing with Rooney continuing his run of devastating form. I think he may even pass Ronaldo’s 42 goals in a season haul. Liverpool has not won away since December 29th against Aston Villa and even that was a 90 minute winner by Torres. I think Man Utd will win this match, possibly in a rout like they did against AC Milan. Check out the odds for Rooney to score first at 3/1 and there is over 50 bets available at bwin.com on various aspects of this match.

Sunday – Blackburn Rovers 7/1 Draw 11/4 Chelsea 9/20

At just under 1/2 Chelsea knows that if they win the remaining matches in the league program they will win the championship title as they have a game in hand over Man Utd and only trial by 2 points. Against Blackburn away this is a match they must win. It has been another tough week for Chelsea with their exit from the Champions league and Terry hitting the headlines, and a security guard, for more negative press. Rumours of a massive squad clear-out in the summer suggests that they are wounded and I fear Blackburn, who have nothing to play for in twelfth position in the league, will pay the price for their frustration. Without goalkeeper Paul Robinson they will find it even harder at home against Chelsea. For our accumulator bet, I like the 9/20 odds for an away win.

My treble for this week will be Chelsea at 9/20, Man Utd at 13/20 and Tottenham at 11/10. A £10 bet on this treble will return, including your stake, £50.24. I think the Spurs game is the only one where we will be hoping for a result, Man Utd and Chelsea should deliver for us as they do not lose much towards the end of the season with the Premiership title in site.

Enjoy all of your football betting this weekend, whatever you decide to bet on with bwin.com.
