Entertainment Betting Tips
Every year Simon Cowell searches for his next new star in the X Factor. Strictly Come Dancing picks out a collection of celebrities and has professional dancers teach them to dance and the popularity contest, I mean dancing contest, keeps us entertained for the next four months. For a third of the year, entertainment betting fans can get involved with the prime time Saturday night TV. Here are my tips for this weekend’s action, with the X Factor in particular looking close to a brilliant crescendo.
X Factor Betting Tips
There are just six acts remaining in the competition and the favourites have emerged. Last week Lloyd Daniels survived the sing off as rocker Jamie Archer was eliminated. Olly Murs is favourite at 2.75 and a mature performance from Stacey Solomon pushes her into second favourite position at 3.40. Joe McElderry looks good in third place at 4.00. Danyl Johnson, often regarded as arrogant, is at 6.50 and John and Edward Grimes, known as Jedward, are 13.00 to win. Lloyd is way back at 51.00. John and Edward may be a good bet to be eliminated this week at odds of 3.50. Lloyd is favourite at 1.60 but at some point the twins will come unstuck. The lack of support in the outright market suggests that the public are tiring of their performances, which is heavily supported by backing artists each week, covering for their substandard vocals.
The betting market on who will be in the bottom two has the odds on favourite Lloyd at 1.26, Jedward at 1.85 and Danyl Johnson at 2.40. Joe is next favourite at 4.75. This suggests that bwin.com sees the elimination contest to be out of Lloyd, Jedward and Danyl. I think if Danyl and Jedward are in the bottom two then Jedward will go. I tip, however, Lloyd to go this week and Jedward to go out next week, leaving a massive contest between Joe, Olly, Stacey and Danyl. X Factor betting fans should not miss a moment of this contest as now that all of the comedy has passed with auditions a forgotten memory we are now in the midst of an intriguing competition.
Strictly Come Dancing Betting Tips
Strictly was marred last week with the injury to Jade Johnston and Laila Rouss. We hope Jades injury is not going to derail her preparations for next years Olympic Games where she is Britain’s top long jumper. Laila will be back this week with partner Anton Du Beke. Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe are 1.85 head to head against any other couple also offered at odds of 1.85 for the head to head betting. Ricky is suspect when Natalie, who has a very high opinion of his dancing ability, gives him tricky routines. He does not lack confidence or poise, but could come unstuck as we saw last week when the intricacies of the stop start Jive routine proved too much for him.
My gripe with the show is that Ricky and Natalie invariably get 9’s from the judges even when they make bad mistakes. Therefore, only Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna can beat them in my opinion. Ali is doing a slower dance this week and the obvious chemistry between the two is enough for me to tip them to beat Ricky and Natalie at 1.85. Even though I like them, Erin and Ricky look very likely to be eliminated this week, so if odds appear for that market that is my tip for the couple to be eliminated. Watch out for Chris and Ola to make the final as Chris contrasts the fiery Ola perfectly and I have a feeling the crowd love watching them in training each week and route for them in every dance.
