Betting Tips for the Final Weekend of the Premiership 2010

We are at the end of the season and there is one last tense day of action tomorrow to look forward to. My weekly tips for the Premiership matches today focus on action from all through the league even though the focus is very much on whether Chelsea can win their final game and secure the league title for the first time in four years. As Carlo Ancelotti appears to be about to dismantle the Chelsea side that have played together for so long it may be the end an era so Chelsea will be keen to mark that era with a final league win for the current side.

Here are the tips, using the betting odds from bwin.com.

West Ham 14/5 Draw 13/5 Man City 17/20

88% of bwin.com customers are betting on Man City to win so you will need to act fast to get this price! Man City are without Gareth Barry and Stephan Ireland through injury and will be deflated after missing out on Champion’s league football for next season. Man City has tended to lose the important matches but beat teams comfortably where they have a telling advantage. They beat West Ham 3-1 at home earlier in the season.

West Ham are without Jack Collison who has a serious knee injury and will miss a large amount of time including part of next season. After a tough season they just survived relegation and the future of manager Gianfranco Zola is unclear. Man City are overwhelming favourites for this match in my view but with question marks over their motivation and patchy form we are offered good odds for the away win at 17/20. Take advantage as Man City should win this match.

Chelsea 2/25 Draw 17/2 Wigan Athletic 18/1

Chelsea must win to be sure of the Premier League title. Playing at home they have a great chance. My belief is that this match will be a tight affair until Chelsea makes the breakthrough then I expect a runaway victory. Wigan lost 9-1 to Spurs earlier in the season which shows they are capable of dropping their heads and being slaughtered by stronger opponents. Interesting bets for this match (the outright price is too low for our treble bet) are Frank Lampard to score first at 333/100 and for there to be over 3.5 goals in the match at 91/100.

For our treble bet my football betting tip for this match is for Chelsea to be leading at half time and at full time at 2/5. Note that for us to win with this selection Chelsea must be in the lead at the end of each half, which I think is the likely outcome in this match.

Burnley 23/4 Draw 31/10 Tottenham Hotspur 9/20

After clinching a spot in next season’s champion’s league competition and manager Harry Redknapp being awarded the manager of the season (and a new £4 million per year contract if you believe the papers) confidence is sky high at Spurs at the moment. They could finish third if Arsenal lose and Spurs win. They have faced Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Bolton in their last five matches and won four of them which is amazing.

Burnley has been relegated and morale is low. Chris McCann returns from injury but I strongly favour a Spurs away win in this match. At odds of slightly shorter than 1/2 this seems a decent bet for me as part of our weekly treble bet.

If you place £10 on our three selections you will receive a combined total of £37.55 including your stake.

That just about wraps things up for the Premiership for the 2009/2010 season. Thank you for following the betting tips this season and we will be back next season each week with more tips and analysis. With the World Cup fast approaching there will be lots of tips made during that competition so for World Cup info the message is ‘stay tuned!’

Good luck with your football betting this week and we will see you next season.
